The Quickening Spirit: Walking in Resurrection Power
Resurrection is not an event we remember, it is a life we live.
Easter Sunday at Rivercourt Church was nothing short of electric — a celebration filled with life, joy, and the undeniable presence of God. Led by Pastor Albert Ofori, the service brought together vibrant worship, powerful teaching, and a renewed sense of purpose, all centered on the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
From the very start, the atmosphere was alive with high-energy praise and heartfelt worship. Songs of victory and freedom filled the room, echoing the truth of the empty tomb — that death has been defeated and new life is available to all who believe.
The message of the day, titled “The Quickening Spirit,” carried a profound and transformative truth: the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead now lives within every believer. This is not just a theological idea, but a present reality — one that brings both spiritual awakening and physical vitality.
Pastor Albert challenged the congregation to reflect on their spiritual state. Are we truly living, or simply existing? Too often, life’s distractions and pressures can lull us into a kind of spiritual slumber. But the resurrection calls us higher. It calls us to awaken — to step into the fullness of who God has created us to be.
To be “quickened” is to be made alive, energized, and renewed from within. It is the work of the Holy Spirit, restoring passion, purpose, and power in our daily lives. This means we are not bound by limitation, fear, or stagnation. Instead, we carry within us the very life of Christ — a life that empowers us to overcome, to grow, and to reflect God’s likeness in every area.
Beyond the sermon, the service also highlighted the heartbeat of the church community. Updates from missionary efforts reminded us of the global impact of the Gospel, while progress reports on the building project reflected a shared vision for growth and expansion. Announcements about upcoming prayer sessions invited everyone to stay connected, engaged, and spiritually strengthened.
As the service came to a close, there was a powerful call to radical praise — a moment where gratitude overflowed and hearts responded freely to all that God has done. This expression of thanksgiving continued through tithes and offerings, given not out of obligation, but as an act of worship and trust.
Easter is more than a date on the calendar. It is a reminder that resurrection is still happening today. The same power that rolled the stone away is still at work — bringing life where there was death, hope where there was despair, and purpose where there was emptiness.
As we carry this message forward, may we walk daily in the reality of the Quickening Spirit — fully awake, fully alive, and fully aligned with God’s purpose.
